Phew!... Is it hot in here or is it just Arizona? The state has one of the warmest climates in the country and, with only 364 miles of water, it is also one of the driest. In the summer, the temperature has reached heights of over 130 degrees!
The state flower is even a cactus, the Saguaro Cactus, to be exact. Arizona designates more land to Native American tribes than any other state and is home to 21 different groups.
Much of the Grand Canyon lies within the state, giving it the obvious nickname, "The Grand Canyon State". Ever heard of the O.K. Corral? The infamous 30 second gunfight took place in Arizona, and the state is included in those once known as the "wild west".
As one of the "4 Corner States", it is completely landlocked. But believe it or not, Arizona once had a well recognized Navy. That is not the only odd thing about the state.
Arizona also has some of the strangest laws in the country. If your a woman planning on visiting Tucson, be sure to pack a lot of dresses. It is illegal for you to wear pants! People under the age of 18 that have bad teeth should avoid the town of Tombstone. There is a law stating that a minor may not smile and reveal missing teeth.
Arizona is also one of the countries leading producers of copper. The roof of the states capital building is constructed of the metal and is melted, the amount of copper could be used to make over 4 million pennies.
